What is a Lead Capture Page
A great deal of marketing is taking place on the internet if you haven't noticed.
The challenge as always is to sell something. That means to introduce it or make it known, convince people it is worth checking out and hopefully get them to purchase the product or service.
One popular method is to use email that will get a person to click on a link.
The link is often a web page which further entices the person to find out more. If they want to know more they must leave a valid email and a name at least to go on the the next page. That person is now a lead and his identity has been captured.
When he completes the form he is usually taken to a more thorough sales page with the offer and a way to pay.
This method is nice because it can be fully automated.
The numbers vary greatly depending on factors like how good the mailing list is, how well written the email is, the quality of the lead capture page as well as the offer and sales letter. Typical responses may be something like this: For every 1,000,000 emails sent 10,000 people wind up at the lead capture page. For every 10,000 arrivals you may get 100 leads captured and perhaps 1 or 2 sales.
What do you do with the other 98 leads who didn't purchase? The answer is, stay in communication if you can. Perhaps they will purchase from you later. This is where an autoresponder helps with the automation by sending follow-up letters usually until people buy or unsubscribe from the list. |
